Too Excited to Know What to Do

So I'm so excited. I really can hardly wait. This will be the only time I ever say it but I wish I was already fat so that everyone would know that I am pregnant (and it would mean I could take that expectant mothers parking spot that is so close to stores). I haven't gained any weight yet. I don't have morning sickness. I don't have cravings (don't tell Mark that though). I really don't have any symptoms that I'm prego except that I haven't had my period and that I've taken 2 tests that have come out positive. I haven't been to a doctor yet because I don't know how to find one. The only people that I would trust for advise on a doctor don't live in Salt Lake, like all of you who are reading this. But if any of you have had any of your baby's in Salt Lake or know of any good lady doctors please let me know. I'm so close to opening the phone book and closing my eyes and letting my finger just find me any doctor. To all you mothers who remember what it was like to have your first baby and how scared and nervous and excited you were, please help. I don't know what I'm doing.

I'll get your number and give you a call. I know a GREAT pediatrician. She helped both my kids through health problems and everything. You can meet with her and talk things over before you even have the baby! She meets with you and you talk and get to know eachother, so you can be sure she's the right choice for you.

Caroline.
you need to figure out what kind of dr you want . . .
do you want an LDS, do you want one that does non medical inductions? do you want one that does episiotomy's?
Do you want to join a practice where you see what Dr is in, and the Dr on call delivers your baby.

do you want a small practice where the Dr you choose delivers your baby (unless they are out of town).

how far are you willing to drive?

I would start with which hospital you want to deliver at, newer is not necessarily better. you can check quality reports. email a few hospitals and I will email you their numbers.

You can contact the OB Chair, or Nurses and tell them what you are looking for (old school, small practice, Dr with high morals, or Newest technology, induce me 4 weeks early to make his golf tourney, large rotating practice)

Or just Find a few people you trust in your work, neighborhood, school, ward and match a recommendation with who is covered by your insurance.

Good Luck!!!

CAROLINE!!!!
Congratulations!!!!

I agree with what the person above me said... pick the hospital you would like to deliver at first and then find a doctor that is able to deliver there. Are there people in your ward who you can ask?

CONGRATS!!

Caroline you crack me up! But I understand your situation. I had to ask co-workers for advice and ended up not really liking my doctor even though he did just fine. You can even interview them if you want...ask them questions and what not. Good Luck!! And don't worry, before you know it you will be wishing you were skinny again!

Count your many blessings that you are feeling GREAT, that is a blessing. Also, I dont know where you live exactly, but I had the GREATEST Drs. that were in American Fork. Dr. Aagarf, Lind, Lamoreaux. They are AMAZING!
