Toys

So Mark and I, knowing that our time to be selfish is soon ending, have been buying so many toys for ourselves. One could say we've gone on a bit of a spending spree. I think what spawned it was Mark selling his mountain bike. If you were at all tuned in last year you would have seen Mark on his big bike atop a mountain. He has always been a bike rider and usually loves a good adventure so he did a lot of down hill riding (he would take the ski lift up and ride his bike down). With as many ski resorts as Utah has one might think this was easy for him, however it wasn't. He would go for a whole day and it was kinda expensive for the lift pass, not to mention him getting permission from his wife. :) So he sold it and made money off of it. He's had it for 2 seasons and made about 350 from the sale, he is this way with everything he buys and sells, talk about the Midas touch.
Anyway, so he decided to buy a road bike so he could just jump on his bike and go for a ride right from his front door. But before he goes he needs to change into his bike shorts and funny clip on shoes. Yes, the same outfits he would call gay, he is now strutting around town in. And just so you know, as much as I adore my Marko, he too looks pretty gay wearing them. I tease him about it though so I can't get any pictures of him wearing them, he puts his basket ball shorts on before he leaves the house and right after. I guess I should be more supportive but I can't stop giggling everytime I see him wear them. He He He.
But buying his new bike and making money off of it meant that I could get my serger that I've been dreaming about. It's so wonderful having it. All my projects go so much faster, they look more professional and just turn out so much better. I've been a sewing nut lately, sewing for 12 hours a day, only stopping to get something to eat. It sure is the life. And since everything goes faster now, I get that high from finishing projects even more often which just makes me want it again. I've also bought the fabric for the baby's room finally too. I just recently finished all these tiny projects to get them out of my sewing room and now I can throw myself into the baby's room and DEC IT OUT so stay tuned for that. I am also getting into 18" doll clothes again so if any of you have or know anyone with an American doll or an 18" doll tell them about my doll clothes. I'll also be updating that blog soon with a lot of cute, fun outfits.
And once again we're back to Mark who was so thrilled about his new 2 wheels he needed to get a new four wheels. Yes he bought a new car. A Subaru Impreza WRX. Why? You may ask considering he just got the whole in his bumper fixed and his other car is running great. Well this is the most reasoning I've been able to get out of him, "I fixed the old car so we could sell it, this car is bigger, eventually we'll only have one car and this is a better one car to have." He being a very smart boy (he is normally a man but this time I say boy) he has tied all those reasons to the baby. The old car wasn't suitable for a baby, we wouldn't have been able to put a car seat in it very easily, the new car will be able to take you, me and the baby around for many years and, the best one, this is a much safer family car. I can see right through his family man excuses though because the new car has turbo, which I don't know a whole lot about but I know it makes you go faster, not something I'm excited about with a baby. But oh well, Mark, as I said earlier, has the Midas touch and chances are he'll find someway to make money off of this too.
