The Royal Wedding

Today I went to a friends house to watch The Royal Wedding.
Some of you may know that I love the British Isles and the Royal family.
Mark and I will sometimes debate the necessity of the Royal presents in England.
I am all for it.
I love to learn all I can get my hands on about the Royal family and that includes it's history.
This isn't just British Royals, I love to learn about the Royalty of many nations.
Russia's and France's histories are fascinating also, although no longer around.
Well, I could not miss this moment in history of seeing Prince William marry Catherine Middleton.
That's right, no title for Kate, meaning she was a "commoner".
Just like a modern day Cinderella.
We watched it at Melissa's, since it aired in the very early morning hours and she DVRed it for us.
Kelsie doesn't understand my obsession but couldn't resist seeing it either.
Melissa isn't as obsessed as I am but still a fan.
It was a beautiful wedding with all the grandeur one could hope for.
I wasn't born when Diana and Charles were married but I remember learning about them and their issues when I was young.
I remember when Diana died and thought how hard her life was with the Charles cheating on her and the Queen being so horrid to her.
After seeing the movie, "Queen" I gained a new perspective on Queen Elizabeth and have since come to admire her.
I really hope that Catherine will be able to handle all the hardships that being a royal comes with.
Diana let the world know that it's not all fairy tales.
I believe that William and Catherine, having dated for about 8 years, went into the marriage with eyes wide open of the pressures that would surely follow.
I truly hope they are happy together, and wish them all the luck in the world.
I know it's silly to wish congratulations to two people I have never met and never will but I do.

Melissa, Kelsie, I will remember you for the rest of my life because I watched the Royal Wedding with you.
Here's hoping it stays a happy memory.
