Last year when we first moved to "The Village" we bought a Hogle Zoo season pass.
This was one of the best investments we have ever made.
The zoo is just under a mile away from where we live and it is a great walk up and threw the zoo.
Scott and I had a great time.
It also included a guest pass so Mark could come from time to time and we could take some of Scott's and my friends along too.
Here is a collection of Zoo pics we have taken threw the year.
This is a right of passage when coming to the Hogle zoo.
My family and I loved this part of the zoo when we were kids.
Scott's first gorilla photo shoot... Not so much.
Mark is my gorilla man.
He has a much longer arm span then he does height.
And Mark had never been to the zoo as a kid so we had to get him a pic here too.
This is like the laziest gorilla ever.
Every time I come it is laying around not doing anything.
This is the only time I've ever seen standing up and moving.
It lasted less then a minute before he was on his burlap sack all over again.
Mark and I love the rhinos.
I don't know why, they don't do anything cool or make any cool sound but they're awesome.
I always ask the people who I go to the zoo with what animal they would be if they were.
Even tho Mark has monkey arms he I think of him more as a rhino.
He's just solid and has that mysterious coolness about him.
Our bold eagle.
My favorite bird.
Scott and I and some friends went to the bird show.
If you haven't been, you should go.
Oh those boys of mine.
Love those two.
Cutest wild animals there.
The elephants and Scott's favorite.
So much fun to sit and watch.
The biggest reason, or should I say smallest, they are so fun to watch is because of baby Zuri.
She is such a crowd pleaser.
Scott all bundled up for the winter outing.
The pass was so good to get out of our cramped 2 bedroom in the winter.
These little monkeys loved Scott and Scott loved them.
I stood Scott up right in front of the glass while they were swinging from branch to branch.
All the sudden they came right up to him.
Scott was thrilled.
Laughed harder then I'd heard him before.
Perfect moment.
At Hogle Zoo this year it was Zoorasic Park.
There were very large and very loud moving dinosaurs scattered throughout the park.
Scott had a love hate relationship with them...
He loved seeing them and climbing on them and hearing them growl...
But sometimes he decided to hold on for dear life and look away.
Here he is riding the rhino.
I loved having the pass because there were some animals that weren't very active very often.
We went close to every week in the spring and summer.
The gorilla was once in a life time, and this big horned sheep was close to the same.
There are so many of these up in my parents mountain, it's cool to get to see one up close.
If my dad were an animal he'd be a big horn sheep.
The giraffe is the opposite in more then one way.
They were always out.
Kinda got bored walking past them but Scott always loved them.
And if my mom was an animal she would be the giraffe.
I'm weird I know, oh well.
Here's the boy and me on the merry-go-round.
Oh my goodness how he loved going on there.
he would walk around and around to find the right animal to sit on.
And of course, scream bloody murder when it was time to get off.
Just to see him smile...
Yes, I was really there with them.
