So Mark is about to finish school, FOREVER!
I can hardly believe it.
Crazy how the time flies.
Finishing school in students brains means the finishing being poor.
Students have a VERY long list of all the things they plan to buy and all the places they plan to go and all the things that they plan to do when they finish school.
Do they get to do them all after they finish?
Sure.
Do you get to do them all RIGHT when you finish?
NO!
In fact you might be lucky if you get to do one thing on your list right when you finish.
Students have a good perspective in thinking that if you kill yourself now and pay a lot of money now and learn a lot now it will pay off later.
But they don't have a good perspective as to when that later is.
We are learning it now, this last week of school when we are thinking that in a week all our dreams will come true.
I don't mean to sound like a downer.
In fact many of our dreams are coming true.
Mark is very blessed to have a job lined up after school.
He's getting paid more then he was before school (not as much as we dreamed but it's a tough economy we'll take what we can get).
We are even going on vacation to see all the national parks in Utah.
What is hard is realizing that you don't get to move from the village to a great big mansion with granite counter tops and great big rooms and amazing carpets.
OK I knew we weren't going to instantly do that but still.
We have been looking for our next place to call home and we are realizing that the price of this dingy three bedroom apartment will get us an OK two bedroom apartment.
The price of an OK three bedroom means we may as well go back to our house.
But if we go too far that means we'll have to buy another car and that means additional expenses there.
With this search also brings the reality of the move.
I don't want to move.
I hate this apartment but I love this location.
I love my neighbors. I mean, I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
They have been the only thing that makes these cinder block walls and cement carpet flours worth it.
I love how nice this community is.
To get one of those OK two bedrooms it doesn't get you this nice of community.
We are less then a mile away from the Zoo, This is the Place Park, the library, and the grocery store, not to mention how close we are to Mark's school and Trax and thus Mark's new work.
I just want to buy this apartment and the one next to it and remodel them the a better flour plan and have real walls and carpet and live here.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense but dreams seldom do.
So here's to old dreams and living the dream and making new dreams.

Hang in there Caroline! All your dreams really will come true in time. We are 8 months in the "after school life" and it is all starting to come together for us! I know it will for you guys too :) You can always call me to vent- I have been there and done all that too. We need to plan another outing soon!
