Little Testimony

Scott is such an amazing boy.  It's been hard at times to realize just how amazing he is but he is still amazing. We have been working with him to start saying prayers.  One night he just started repeating me while I was saying it.  Of course I teared up hearing my sweet little angel trying to speak to his Father in Heaven.  This was such a moment since before he hated when we said it was prayer time.  He associated it with bed time since that is when we are most consistent.
Well since he decided to repeat us we have tried doing it more often.  Tonight for dinner we decided to let him do it.  He did awesome.  Here's how it went,
Me:   "Dear Heavenly Father",
Scott:  "Dear Heavenly Father"
Me:  "Thank you for the food",
Scott:  "Thank you for the food"
Me:  "Please bless the food",
Apparently his throat was dry because he stopped to take a drink.  I thought about stopping him but realized I didn't want to make praying a bad experience, I'd teach him not to do that later.  I must tell you that we often catch him trying to keep his arms folded while getting his cup and trying to take a drink while squinting his eyes just enough to see.  Again, it's hard to discipline when I'm laughing.
So I repeat after his drink:  "Please bless the food",
Scott:  "Please bless the food"
Me:  "In Jesus name,"
Scott: "In Jesus name,"
Me:  "Amen."
Scott:  "Good night Scotty Boy".
Yeah we might be in a bit of a routine at night.  We are, like I said a bit more consistent with our bed time prayers then with our others prayer during the day.  I just love it though.  One time a week or so ago he started saying his prayers without help when he got into bed.  Times like this I must remember when I'm feeling like the worlds worst mom.
If you haven't noticed I haven't posted much lately as this is because our camera hasn't been working.  So I refused to not have a camera for Scott's birthday tomorrow so right after dinner Mark and Scott and I went to the store to buy one.  On the way we past the Jordan River Temple (I love being 15 minutes away from a temple again and having it on the way to so many places).  When Scott say it he started singing "I love to see the Temple".  Ends up he knew all the words to the first verse.  It was hard to understand it all but words stood out like, eternity and together.  It made me realize that the previous post from months ago when I wrote about him calling it "The Temple Song", well this moment right now made all those fits that I felt prompted to sing to him instead of get angry worth it.  It was calming to me to sing because Heaven knows I wanted to get angry and show him who the master of fits really was.  But it was calming to him and even if he doesn't know what the words mean right now he has just started his testimony.  He has started to learn one of the best parts this beautiful Gospel and that is temples and eternal families.  I can't tell you how blessed life has been since Scott has come into our lives.  And because of temples I get to be with him for eternity and forever be taught by his amazing spirit.

Above is the Jordan River Temple that we drove by that inspired the song.
It is about 20 minutes from our house.
This is the Oquirrh Mountain Temple that is less then 15 minutes from our house.
If on Bangeter Highway coming home from the South Scott and I will usually get off and get on 40th so we can drive right past this temple.
It is now one of our families favorites.
Scroll down to the next post about Scott's cute new phrases from a previous time. :)
