Mark and I both have our birthdays in August. Mark's is August 11th and mine is August 23rd. Although Mark's birthday comes first in the month I am actually older by 11 months and 12 days. Mark likes to tease me about how old I am all year long but last year we made the deal that he's not allowed to tease me during the 12 days that we are the same age. It has been hard for him this last week and a half but as of today he gets to start back up again with all his 26 year old jokes.
We had a fun party at my parent’s house for both of our birthdays last week and my brother and his family came all the way form California for the event (they were really just vacationing but I like my story better). We had some great food and played outside all evening. We were going camping as a family the following weekend (this past weekend, over my birthday) so a lot of gifts we got followed the camping theme. My brother, Luke and his wife, April, got us a red cooler with some great camping food. My sister, Sarah and her husband, Matt, got us a big box of camping gear. My parents got me a great swim suit that I picked out and they got Mark a great rolling office chair that I can't get him out of now. My youngest sister, Kate, got us clothes and I tell you no one can shop like Kate. Yes, it's been a great August and a wonderful summer. We have so much to be thankful for but the greatest thing of all is an eternal family.
