Christmas Tag

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot chocolate all the way. Never been too into egg nog but I used to live off hot chocolate in high school. Now it magically makes my hips grow, weird.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Santa doesn't have time to make the gifts and wrap them, he just sets them under the tree. Plus it's to hard to keep Santa's wraping and my wrapping paper different and keeping it hidden.

3. Colored lights on a tree/house or white?
I am the biggest nut of all about this one. This year I got a great deal on a tall tree at work and it had colored lights on it so what did I do? I took each and every light out and put a white light in. I think the color should come from the ornaments, not the lights.

4. Do I hang mistletoe?
I'd like to hang it but it is the hardest thing to find.

5. When do I put up my decorations?
In case you didn't read my previous post in November, I'll say it again, the day after Thanksgiving.

6. What is my favorite holiday dish?
Probably holiday ham. But really, Christmas is for eating. I don't let myself eat a lot but I like to taste it all. Such a yummy time of year.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
When I got my American Doll from my mom and Grandma. A lot of my friends had one and I was thrilled to get mine. Also, I learned to love to sew by making my doll clothes. So as silly as it sounds, it kinda created my future person.

8. When and how did I learn the truth about Santa?
I don't really remember when I found out but I was there when my sister Kate found the truth out. It was the day after Thanksgiving and we were coming home from Black Friday shopping. My mom got sick of keeping the secret from Kate so she just told her. Kate cried a little in the back seat, it was so sad.

9. Do we open a Christmas gift on Christmas Eve?
Yes. Christmas P.J.'s.

10. How do I decorate our tree?
I have my staple ornaments which are cream and creamy gold glass balls. Then I put the other random ornaments on. Mark and I get one new ornament every year of something that's happened that year, we're getting a house ornament this year.

11. Can I ice skate?
Yes. The first time I went I was 10. My dad told me before I went that if I fell I needed to pull my fingers in to fists quick cause someone would skate over them. I was so freakin scared.

12. Can I remember my favorite gift?
My early Christmas gift last year when I got married on December 19th.

13. What is the most important thing about the holidays for me?
The true meaning of Christmas. Celebrating Christ's birth is the most awesome thing of the season. We are so selfish for making it all about us but we can change that so easily by finding a gift to give to Christ this season and with New Years just a week later it's the perfect time to make a life changing gift with our new years resolutions.

14. What is my favorite holiday dessert?
 Aunt Vicky's cherry cheese cake

15. What is my favorite holiday tradition?
Going to pick out our ornament and going to Temple Square and seeing the lights. Since we got married this time of year at the Salt Lake Temple it's even more special.

16. What tops my tree?
A star.

17. What do I prefer, giving or receiving?
I'm not going to lie, I love getting gifts. But I also love to give them too. It's neat to see someone you love happy because of something you did for them.

18. What is my favorite Christmas song?
I love all christmas music but this year I'm really loving "The Little Drummer Boy." It's so sweet and tells us that we don't need to give him gold but we need to just give him the best of ourselves.

19. Candy Canes?
yes please. I like to try make it as pointy as I can.

20. Do I feel Christmas is too commercialized?
YES!!! The fact that someone died this year all because we had to save some money is so wrong. It's also crazy how some people will take out a loan to pay for all their christmas gifts. I think we need to slow down and just enjoy the simple things of the season.

I tag anyone who reads this. Thanks Linds. It was fun to read yours and to get up on my own christmas soap box.
