It was a Monster Bash

Well my first child just had his first birthday party.
It is crazy how fast these past few months have gone by.
I'll be honest, the first four months went pretty slow, but after that is a blur, it's gone so quick.
He has been such a joy.
We had such a great time at his party.
We had family and friends over at our apartment's court yard to celebrate.
Scott dressed up like a monster for his Monster Bash.

This is one proud grandpa. He had a hard time sharing Scott with others there.

Aunt Sunny and Grandma Lucy came down from Logan as well for Scott's party.
They are always so kind and supportive.

This is Jill and my mom.
Jill was such a sweetie for coming, she and Scott have a special bond.

My beautiful niece Maia just had to come to her cousins party.
This two are only four months apart and already becoming such great friends.
They baby talk to each other and then just start laughing.
Oh yeah, that's Matt and Sarah too.
I love having my sister around that has a baby so close to Scott's age.
Annie and Natalie had to come.
Anne is fighting Kate for the favorite Aunt.
They are very competitive.

This is Quinn and Quinn the second.
I remember this kid when he was five.
It's fun to have my second family apart of my new family.

This is Zachery and Martha, the older Quinn's wife.
I remember when Zachery came home from the hospital.
Martha has taught me so much about being a good mom.
I just love the Sutton family.
My brother Josh is such a great Uncle.
He's the uncle that lifts the kids so high playing air plane, teaches the kids how to stick their tongues out, gives them candy and gets them really hyper.
He's that uncle that every kid needs.

Do you know how hard it is to get Jon to smile?
Very very difficult.
But he did and it had nothing to do with me telling him to but everything to do with Mark teasing him.
Such a great big brother he is.

This is how I knew it was a fun party.
Going around and hardly needing to ask people to smile because they already were.
We are so grateful Mark's family came all the way from Logan for Scott.
I love living pretty close to both mine and Mark's families.
With family life is good.

This is Olivia Sutton.
The very first time I went to tend for the Suttons, the moment I walked in the door, Olivia lunged from her dad's arms strait at me.
She was a bit of a difficult child for other babysitters but for some reason she took to me instantly, probably because we were so much a like.
This picture for me is like a "coming full circle" for me.
Scott just enjoyed being with her even though they haven't spent a lot of time together.

These are our wonderful friends Ryan, Kirsten, and Talmage.
Kirsten and I became room mates while Mark and I were dating and we've kind of followed each other around because Mark and Ryan graduated at the same time in the same things and went to work at the same place and now have started their MBA programs this year.
Tal is older then Scott but already they have so much fun hanging out together while their moms craft and hang out together.

Even Eddie Dog came for the celebration.
We couldn't have a family get together without our sweet Eddie.

Back to the party.
This is me opening up Scott's gifts, he loves paper but he just didn't get the idea of ripping it.
He loved all the gifts he got.
It was hard for him to not play with each one.

Here is Scott's cake.
If you're confused, it's a monster.

He didn't understand the idea of eating it.
I think he was thinking the whole time, "How do I get this goodness in me?"
He would bend his head like he was about to dunk his head in it but something held him back.
He would not move his right hand from where it was.
He did not want anyone to help him eat, he knew this was his and no one could touch it.
He hardly ate any of it.

Here he is basking in all his booty.
He has so much fun playing.
He is just so big, I can't believe I have a ONE year old.
I love you Scott Jay Bird.
