I am completely aware that Moab is not a National Park but this is where we camped.
On Thursday we drove the 3 hours to get to Moab from Capitol Reef.
What do you think the first thing I did once we got to camp?
I SHOWERED!
It was so wonderful to get myself grime free.
I actually did fine thanks to the exfoliating facial clothes and baby wipes.
But I will say that I wont be wearing a french braid across the top of my head for a while.
Anyway, we stayed at a site just right before you drive into Moab.
It had showers, a pool and hot tub, and a play ground for Scott.
It even had a super sized checkers, chess, and chinese checkers set.
Only thing I didn't like about it was how the tent sites were back to back.
I have experienced this before at the KOA that we stayed at last time in Moab so I think that this is just the way it will always be camping there.
Still, I'm glad we found this place, it was one of the few places that had a pool open that early in the season.
And I don't know why, it was HOT.
Anyway, after our showers Mark went on a bike ride that he crashed on.
He went off a jump and landed wrong which he is of course blaming on the bike's suspension.
:)
He survived and said it was a still a great ride.
Scott and I wanted to go watch a movie but apparently they don't believe in movie theaters in Moab.
Hmmm.
So we came back to the site and went swimming instead.
Scott + water = LOVE and I'll make your like miserable if you try to take me out.
Just a warning.
Something that we took a step in last time we were in the area but didn't get to explore.
We loved it!
It is absolutely beautiful.
Here we are on top of Mesa Arch.
Not a long or a hard hike at all.
Scott did this one great, we just had to hold him once we got there, you see why.
There was this huge youth group that got there the same time we did.
Everyone stayed off while they took there big group picture on the top but couldn't pay everyone else the same curtsy.
Still pretty bugged about it.
The view from on the arch.
Amazing right?!
Here we are at Upheaval Dome.
This place was awesome.
There's just this huge circle cut out of the earth and in the center is all this patinaed copper dust on the bottom.
They don't know if it was caused by a crater or salt bubble.
Sounds weird I know but it was such a great hike and so interesting.
This is it from the other side.
It's again, weird because all the layers are vertical instead of horizontal.
Here is Scott and I.
Why am I posting such an unflattering picture of myself?
Because I did this whole hike with him on my back in very hot weather.
We went to the furthest site too (the farther site is where you get the best view of the vertical layers)
If any of you have been on this hike you may know that it is not for the week and I did it with a 35 pound 2 year old on my back.
Mark couldn't because he was super soar from his crash and burn the day before.
I just love being able to see so far away.
It's absolutely breath taking standing up there.
Wish I had a panorama camera for this place.
The stamp.
I feel like we earned the stamp this time here because we put our shoe print there this time.
Our camera started to die so we didn't take too many landscape shots at arches.
We did get to take mark up to Delicate Arch this time around.
He was on a bike ride when I went the last time with my family.
This is mine and Scott's second time to Delicate though and I think this is his favorite place we went on the trip because he hasn't stopped speaking of it since.
Every license plate in the parking lot he looks for the arch, if there is a building made with orange brick, he calls it an arch, if there is a hole anywhere, yep, that's an arch too.
I was terrified during this hike thinking he would find someway to kill himself so he staid in the back pack the whole way.
People here were kind enough to know how to take turns under the arch.
I got this the second Mark walked out from site.
This is incredibly hard to get.
There was a man behind me trying to get the same thing.
I felt bad, he'd been waiting there a lot longer then me and stayed there after me still trying.
And that was Arches.
It was an incredible trip.
I don't know if we have ever been on a vacation with just us and no other family or friends with us.
I loved making memories with my family.
This is the beginning of A LOT of outings to come.

My home! You look like you totally belong in Moab. Sorry we weren't in town, we would've put you up at my dads or the cabin. By the way, there is a movie theater in town, its right behind McDonalds, lol!
