The Sweetest Thing

So last night Mark went to check on Scott after he fell asleep, you know just to make sure he was still cute.  So not only was he still cute, let me tell you, he was cuter.  He told me I needed to go see just how much cuter he was.  I didn't get a picture but let me tell you.  He was just laying there all sweet like with a blanket over his body and his eyes were open and he was just laying there staring at us.  Well we left, afraid that he might move and not be able to fall back to sleep.  It was so sweet and wonderful that the image was like burned in my head, so about five minutes later I decided to go see if he was still laying there like that.  Get this, he was even cuter the second time around because he laid there for a couple of seconds then smiled up at me and reached his hands out for me.  Could you resist that?  I didn't think so!  Okay so I kinda went in there and decided if he still had his eyes open I would get him but don't tell Mark, he'll make fun of what a sucker I am.
Scott has developed this habit of waking up a few hours after we lay him down.  Sometimes he cries and other times he just starts talking to himself.  We are still awake when this happens and we both start racing for the door trying to get there before the other.  But it really doesn't matter because he wants me and only me.  This is the only time he snuggles with me and I am the happiest mom alive at this time.  I just can't help but fall in love with my son all over again every night.  Mark loves to just look over and see us content.  Not good if he needs to study because he just wants to come and be content with us.  It truly is
The Sweetest Thing!

I have happy thoughts knowing you are getting your snuggles in. This independent streak that they have 99% of the time is kicking me in the butt!
That really was a cute story though :)
